An Engagement =)

Something wonderful happened to me a week and a half ago.

My boyfriend proposed to me and became my fiancé!!!

It was the most magical day of my life thus far, and I'm incredibly happy.
It came as a complete surprise, he proposed to me on a little bridge to Turtle Island at Smith Mountain Lake.

I had never been there prior to that day, and it was perfect.

So now I'm busy trying to plan a wedding! We're getting married in March, and we'll be getting married in my hometown (or near it) and it's a little difficult to plan being out of state. I'm going home for the weekend in a couple weeks, and there should be some good planning done then! Dress shopping, and scoping out potential venues and a bridal expo! I'm really excited- this is a really fun time. I'm also really excited to marry Joe, and get settled into that. There is so much to do between now and then, what with Joe graduating in December, both of us working on Senior Recitals, figuring out grad schools and getting married! Ah! A bit overwhelming at times, but extremely exciting.

Well that's the latest news, and what's on my coffee table?
Why, the lovely ring box my ring came in ;)

Fabulous.

It's been a few weeks since I blogged. . .oops!

I went home to visit my family in NC for a week which was great. I also got to see some of closest friends from back home.

This was my week in a nutshell:
Pool.
Family.
Shopping.
Pool.
Family.
Besties.
Beach.
Shopping again.
Family.
Pool.

It was wonderful to relax. . .And now I'm back home in my happy little apartment and working. I can't wait for my wonderful boy to return next week too.

While I was home I got lunch with my bestie, Michelle who had returned from a month in Italy just two days before. Happy.

Hmmm...I don't know how to add photos from iPhoto into the blog. . .if anyone can tell me how, I would be grateful!

I wanted to add pictures along with this. . .but I'm not sure how. . .hmm oh well!

Sunday

Happy Sunday friends =)

I hope you are enjoying your weekend, I know I've enjoyed mine! I went yard-saling yesterday and ended up with some great finds, including 3 new milk-glass vases (!) and some other decor-ish items. Great fun=)

And then. . .I started a new project! I am going to make a wreath out of these lovely roses

I started making these last night, and they are time-consuming, goodness! But they are so cute, and fun to make.

Church was really good this morning- the pastor preached on prayer as the foundation of not only our spiritual but our entire lives and he made an analogy to the foundation built for the tallest building in the world the Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates. Here it is:

It's so big, it looks fake, right? Wow. . .So the sermon was on Matthew 6:5-15 and discussed the elements going into prayer, that is a relationship and communion with God and how God wants that community with us, not so He can get to know us because He already does completely, but so we may benefit from knowing Him better. Mmm.

Yesterday I found a cute tray and little trinkets that are going as the centerpiece of my coffee table:

And I don't even really know what these little guys are, but they were only 10 cents, and I thought they were precious!

Guess What?!?!?!
I opened a store on etsy! YAY! I am only selling a few items right now to get started, but I will post more soon. Here is the link to my store: HowGloryGoes Shop on Etsy

Bye!

Saturday!

Happy Saturday!

I love the feeling of weekends, relaxed and easy.

I recently got a new camera, and I am trying to learn how to use it in more than a basic way. . .When I start figuring that out and putting the pictures on my computer, I will hopefully have pictures to accompany these posts.

Until then, I won't.

I have recently been making these paper flower pomanders and I think they are just as cute as can be! I will post pictures soon hopefully, mine are light pink and super cute!

The other day I had a big moment. Well. . .sort of big. I paid for my June rent! How grown-up, yes? It was the first time my parents haven't paid for it, now that I have graduated and am an adult (?)

Okay, let's check out that coffee table:

I have a new nail polish sitting on it. . .It's a really pretty color that is about a shade darker than my skin, and I like it. I got it from CVS (I'm getting into couponing again, fun fun =) for FREE! Yay for extrabucks.

Well, farewell my friends, enjoy your weekend.

Welcome to my House and my Coffee Table!

I did it! I started a blog- I've been meaning to forever and here it is=)

Why the girlie-girl's coffee table?

Because I have been known to be a girlie-girl, liking all things pink, pretty, sparkly, involving pearls etc.

And coffee table?
Because my life seems to end up on the coffee table every day, whether that is my purse that I throw on the coffee table when I get home from work or my latest crafty project or a book or magazine I'm reading.

Welcome, welcome. I'm glad you're here. (Although it's a coffee table, I much prefer tea.)

What's on my coffee table right now?

A magazine my sweetheart bought me and some drinking glasses and miscellaneous junk from my roommate and I.

What has been on my coffee table over the past few weeks?

-A graduation cap! Because I just graduated from Liberty University with my degree in Vocal Performance. (So music is also something that tends to end up on the coffee table. . .also because I haven't technically graduated because I still have to do my Senior Recital this fall)

-My work apron (I'm a server at a local Italian restaurant)

-My Bible, because it's the word of God and it's essential. Mmm.

I'm really excited to start this blog and we'll see what comes of it- I mostly wanted a place to explore my creative outlet side- I'm getting really into being crafty and diy projects and the like. So I will try to post those adventures and excitements here, as well as other goings-on.

That's all for now!
